Manjedal Activity Centre is a magical camp for young adventurers – and not so young Ministers who can be cajoled onto a 240 metre flying fox through the trees!
One of the wonderful programs they run is camps for children in the care of the Department of Communities where they can enjoy challenges like abseiling and raft building which helps inspire them to aim high and dream big.
One young camper said about Manjedal – “I feel safe here. I feel like it’s a home… This camp has motivated me to go to school every day, try out for the state team (netball)… and follow my dreams.

Great time! We went in October 2018 for the St Hilda’s year 7 father and daughter camp. We had a tremendous time with the flying fox, archery, inflatable obstacle course, laser tag, sitting around the fire pit and more. The facilities and activities made for a very enjoyable trip. I am a huge advocate for Manjedal!

We chose Manjedal Activity Centre for our Year 9 Camp. Manjedal Staff were incredibly accommodating with our booking and recommending activities for our students. There were a wide range of activity options for us to choose from and Manjedal staff were professional and engaging when running sessions. Facilities at the Youth Centre were outstanding and upon arrival the campsite was immaculate. Feedback from students has been that Year 9 was their best camp experience yet! I would recommend Manjedal Activity Centre to anyone interested in booking a high school camp. Thank you for having us and we look forward to visiting Manjedal again next year.

I have been using Manjedal for a number of years to run a school leadership camp. The accommodation at Manjedal is exactly what we need. The dorms are comfortable, the kitchen facilities are great, and the hall space is suited to our needs. What I really like about this site, is that there are so many varied activities all within walking distance, which means we can make most of the weekend without travelling.
We have used a number of activities available over the years, and I can recommend them all. The staff are well trained and thorough when it comes to safety. They relate well to the students, and while still maintaining the necessary safety requirements, allow the students to have fun. It has been good to get to know the staff over the years. The booking process is super easy, and the admin staff are very friendly and helpful. The distance from Perth, and the pricing makes it an easy choice for a campsite. We will definitely continue to use Manjedal.

On Mother’s Day, we visited the Manjedal Activity Centre as a family to see Craig’s plaques – one at the chapel and one on the shelter that he helped construct on Top-End Track. It was really special for us to visit Manjedal as Craig loved the Scouting movement and his life revolved around the WA Rovers.
Craig joined the Scouting movement as a young Joey, and spent the next 18 years as a Cub, Scout, Venturer, and was heartbreakingly taken from us at 25 year’s old in his final year as a Rover. During his 18 years, he visited Manjedal countless times and as a Rover, spent plenty of time working to improve the infrastructure. He was not looking forward to the day he would be officially “booted” and will now forever remain a Rover.
The Kunze family is very appreciative of the tribute and warmth that we still receive from those in the Scouting movement, and it’s always special for us to return to Manjedal to clean the plaques and remember our brother and son. Thank you for allowing us to visit again.

I have had great service from the staff at Manjedal Activity Centre for many years as Unit Leader of Ocean Reed SHS Emergency Service Cadets, with my first camp in the year 2000. We have returned annually since then as I consider Manjedal one of the best value camping sites in W.A. Last year all my needs were met by the great staff including Dave, Simon, Nicolle, Vicky, Eagle and Alexis. We will be back in 2019!

Scouts WA Adventure Centres has some exciting news! Please allow us to introduce a familiar face to you all and our new General Manager Mark Thorpe.
Mark has been a volunteer member of Scouts WA for almost 20 years, in a variety of roles including Leader of Youth across various sections, Group Leader, Rover Advisor, member of the National Training Team and Branch Commissioner. Mark’s current role is Regional Chief Commissioner, Country North Region.
Mark has previously spent time at Manjedal doing volunteer work and maintenance.
His experience includes banking and finance, transport and logistics, oil and gas, and training and he served more than 30 years in the Australian Army Reserve.
Mark has been involved in many Scouting activities and has a broad knowledge of Scouting, camping and the outdoors, and is also a keen hockey player.
His vision is to see the Centres being enjoyed and well utilised by Scouts and other organisations and maintaining and improving the facilities to meet the needs of the people using them and the organisation.
Mark is looking forward to this new role and is keen to hear from you or catch up with you when you’re at Manjedal or one of our other Adventure Centres.
I'd be surprised if you don't get told off for not having it behind the collar and not having it correctly tied with a woggel.
But the way you have it is the norm in most other countries. I grew up with this and see nothing wrong with it on an activity.
Looking good guys. 👍
Scouts WA Adventure Centres - Manjedal are pleased to announce we have a new Manager Trisha has been a part of our office for almost 3 years now and is eager to start her new appointment, here is a little bit from her.
Hello, Trisha, here, the new Manager of Scouts WA Adventure Centres – Manjedal, many of you already know me as the site coordinator for the Adventure Centres where I have been for almost 3 years, I have built some pretty special relationships within Scouts in this time.
I am extremely excited to be taking on the role as Manjedal Manager, and eager to hit the ground running so that our team can ensure that Manjedal continues to be the place we all enjoy and love.
Prior to being at Manjedal I was employed within the shire of Serpentine / Jarrahdale as a Business Development Officer and then as an Office Manager in Real Estate, in 2016 I came to Manjedal as a Casual Activities Facilitator so the place holds a lot of special memories for me, not only as an employee but also as a local as I live in Karrakup with my husband of 17 years and our 3 children.
I am looking forward to meeting everyone and hearing your favourite memories about Manjedal and how you think we could improve this awesome place. ... See MoreSee Less
